Occupying a breathtaking site on the lower slopes of Table Mountain and set in nine acres of lush and tranquil gardens, the Belmond Mount Nelson is Cape Town’s most famous hotel, located just a short stroll from the historic city centre and vibrant Kloof Street.
The 144 luxurious rooms and 57 suites offer garden or mountain facing views and leisure facilities include two heated swimming pools, two floodlit tennis courts, a gymnasium with personal trainers, a golf practice net, two gift shops and internet access throughout the hotel. A luxurious spa has opened boasting 10-treatments rooms, a sauna, steam room, plunge pools and a conservatory.
The hotel offers two restaurants - the Cape Colony restaurant combines fine dining with impeccable service amid an elegant interior, with live music each evening. The menu features contemporary South African cuisine with an exotic Asian influence, while the wine list was recently awarded the Diners Club Award of Excellence. Overlooking the beautiful gardens and swimming pool, the Oasis Restaurant offers the perfect venue for relaxed alfresco dining, ranging from extensive breakfast and lunch options, through to simpler health-focused meals, perfectly prepared to your exact specifications. The Hotel is also famous for its decadent Afternoon Tea served daily in the elegant lounge, while champagne and cocktails are sipped by night in the stylish Planet Bar which spills out onto a magnificent garden terrace, allowing guests to take full advantage of the beautiful African night sky.
Each of the 57 suites and 144 luxurious rooms are individually furnished and provided with fully appointed private bathrooms and individually controlled air conditioning. In addition, each is equipped with television, international touch-dial telephones, voice mail, high-speed internet access and an electronic safe. Refrigerators and mini bars are provided in all rooms except Single Rooms. A local daily newspaper, robes, hairdryers and bottled water are also included. A private fax line is available on request in some rooms. Non-smoking rooms are available.
A unique feature of the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel is its four new 'wings' of luxurious accommodation, all set in private gardens planted with lavender and iceberg roses. These wings - Taunton House, Green Park, Helmsley and Hof Villa - are reached from the main hotel via the leafy Palm Avenue. Guests staying in them enjoy unrivalled serenity and seclusion, and are, of course, entitled to use all the hotel's facilities, including the two heated swimming pools, with their superb Table Mountain backdrop.

LIBRISA SPA

The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel’s sparkling new Librisa Spa is set to become one of Cape Town’s leading day spas. Treatments are world class and have been developed uniquely for the spa. The spas three signature product ranges are the locally produced Africology and Victorian Garden, and French brand Algologie.
This Cape Town Spa is housed in three original late Victorian buildings, décor is an eclectic combination of timeless elegance and contemporary style. Spa facilities include: innovative changing areas containing sauna and steam baths, sensation showers and heated marble slabs. There are eight individually decorated, oversized treatment rooms, including four specially designed tandem treatment rooms; and a sun-splashed conservatory and refreshment station where guests are invited to relax and indulge in healthy snacks.

Our banqueting managers and staff are specialists in their field and will consult and assist in the planning of conferences, weddings, banquets and balls. We will arrange entertainment, décor, beverages and flowers specific to your needs and supply professional service for the occasion. Our highly flexible menu options make provision for any special health, dietary or religious requirements. We also have a kosher licence, with the kitchens supervised by the Beth Din.

Planet Champagne Bar offers an extensive cocktail menu, a wide selection of Champagne and wines, and an assortment of light meals and canapés. Open nightly from 17h00 until late, and from 15h00 on Fridays.
Afternoon Tea at the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel:
No visit to Cape Town is complete without experiencing Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel’s legendary Afternoon Tea. Famous foodies and travel writers the world over describe it as being one of the best afternoon tea experiences in the world.
Not for the faint of heart, the daily buffet is laid out on the Windsor Table in the hotel’s Lounge area and includes savoury favourites the likes of smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon grissini, local Malay specialities, and sweet temptations from chocolate confectionery, to petit fours, cupcakes, scones, and assorted cakes.
Afternoon Tea is served in the Lounge, on the Terrace or in the garden around the Lord Kitchener Fountain. The dress code is informal, and the buffet is served daily from 14h30 to 17h30.
Chef's Table:
We invite you to experience a tailor-made culinary encounter at the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel's Chef's Table.
Located in the heart of the kitchen, you can enjoy out-of-the-ordinary fare whilst gaining a ‘fish-bowl glimpse’ into the previously secret domain of a professional kitchen.
Open for dinner, the Chef’s Table caters for a minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 10 people for a 4-course dinner, which includes sparkling wine and canapés on arrival in the Planet Champagne & Cocktail Bar, a chef's apron and personalised menus.
Oasis Restaurant:
Oasis Restaurant, overlooking the hotel’s beautiful gardens and swimming pool, is the perfect venue for relaxed breakfast and lunch dining as well as Sunday brunch. Recently re-launched with a new food concept, Oasis offers a simple and contemporary take on ‘al fresco’ dining, with daily menus incorporating the Cape’s best local and seasonal produce. Lunch options include succulent meats and seafood cooked to order on live action stations, freshly made traditional oven baked pizzas, homebaked Ciabatta, Kitka and Focaccia rolls, generously filled with ingredients from Mediterranean vegetables to fresh shrimps and smoked salmon, and an extensive salad buffet.

LOCATION

The hotel is situated just 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. Chauffeur driven vehicles can be arranged on request and complimentary return shuttles are offered to the V&A Waterfront and Cape Town International Convention Centre.
